Lupa Maimone
SHORT BIO
Multidisciplinary author. She is the artistic director of the Oltrenotte company and the T.Off theatre space and of the programme International training Contemporanea Dance Week.
She develops an original, hybrid, multidisciplinary choreographic theater. Her research extends to the manual creation of objects and masks, central elements in the creative process, a vital part of aesthetics and language.
Her latest creations have received several awards, such as: Winner of the Trampolino Vetrina 2025 competition promoted
from the Associazione Circo Contemporaneo Italia (ACCI), Special Mention for Multidisciplinary Innovation; South East Dance Award - Most Surprising Dance Performance | Presente Futuro Award; Zero Conduct Award; ABITARE Competition by Equilibrio Dinamico; CollaborAction Kids XL#1 Artistic Award, an action by the Anticorpi XL Network; and Permutazioni Competition by Zerogrammi. Her shows have toured Italy, Spain, the UK, Slovenia, Romania, Portugal, Germany, and Denmark. She also collaborates as a choreographer and performer with various national and international companies.
Professional training:
Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School in Denmark and the Escuela Internacional de Circo y Teatro CAU in Granada. She received the Haztegia scholarship from Zirkozaurre in Bilbao. She participated in various creative and training programs led by European directors and choreographers.
She collaborates artistically with various companies such as La Vispera, La Bruma, Nadia Addis.
Before creating the Oltrenotte company, Lupa Maimone was an author and dancer with the Zerogrammi company (Turin) directed by Stefano Mazzotta from 2017 to 2020 and worked as a dancer in the creation and film production Elegia delle Cose Perdute, and as an author in the works Nostos, Oltremai and Simposio del Silenzio.
From 2017 to 2019, Lupa worked in Spain as a choreographer and performer in the professional training project INSOMNIA, directed by Anthony Mathieu; from 2016 to 2017, she was a resident artist at the CAFE DE LAS ARTES TEATRO in Santander; from 2015 to 2016, she created and toured with the Collettivo La Balsa circus show Donde mueren las olas; and from 2014 to 2017, she worked with multidisciplinary artist Sebastian Sobrado on the show Nostos.
